By Alex Webbe Pony Express/Newport and Power Horse battled it out on the playing fields of the Grand Champions Polo club Sunday morning with Pony Express/Newport riding past Power Horse in the final half to score a 10-7 win in the finals of the 2011 USPA Sun Cup.
Pony Express/Newport got on the scoreboard first on a goal from Gene Goldberg, with Power Horse 7-goaler Tommy Biddle converting a penalty shot for the equalizer at the end of the chukker.

By Alex Webbe Pony Express emerged victorious in a three team round-robin Friday afternoon and will play against Walter Scherb’s Horse Power team in the finals of the 2011 USPA Sun Cup Sunday morning at 11 am at the Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington.
Piaget fell to La Pasion/Port Mayaca 4-3 in the first leg of the round-robin, with Tracee Brunetti leading the team with two goals. Single goals by J. J. Celis and Stevie Orthwein were all the team needed to eke out a one goal win.
